Services & What to Expect

Before the ceremony, we will have a consultation to walk through what will happen, address any concerns, and ensure you feel confident and prepared. This can be done via telehealth at your convenience, or in-person if you prefer. Following the circumcision, we will walk through aftercare instructions. I am always available for follow ups.

The ceremony itself

I use a time-tested method that prioritizes safety and efficiency. To support your infant’s comfort, I use sucrose water, with traditional sweet kosher wine available upon request. I will guide your family through the ritual beforehand and help you select a Hebrew name and honorees upon request. I perform brit milah ceremonies in private homes, synagogues, and medical settings when appropriate. We will discuss location, setup, and logistics during our consultation to ensure the environment feels calm and supportive for your family.

Jewish ritual circumcision is a mitzvah and a right for Jews of all backgrounds and family configurations.

“[Rabbi Rosner] crafted a ceremony that felt deeply personal, authentic, and joyful, exactly what we hoped for. What truly sealed the day for me: at one point the pianist didn’t show on time, and rather than letting things stall he simply engaged the guests, put everyone at ease, and bought us all the time we needed until the music arrived. That kind of poise, humor and presence under pressure said everything about the kind of person and officiant he is. If you’re looking for someone who will listen, personalize your story, keep things moving smoothly, and make people feel included (while also bringing a joyful spirit), I can’t recommend him highly enough.” – S. R.

*I carry professional liability insurance and follow established safety and hygiene protocols appropriate to religious circumcision.
